Typography

Objective

The brief required a typographic-only redesign of The Killing Circle that communicates the novel’s psychological intensity without imagery. The goal was to create a compelling and shelf-impactful cover system through form, contrast, and composition alone.

Process

I developed a high-contrast red and black palette paired with distressed typography to evoke tension and unease. The repeated title forms a circular composition interrupted by negative space, symbolizing the “killing circle.” The design relies on hierarchy, contrast, and spatial balance to communicate mood through typography.
